Can't be in a bad mood...

when you come across a picture like this...

It's been a long week already having been sicker than sick the last four days!  I've never hurt all over so much as I have.  I haven't been able to do ANYTHING and it's killing me!  I have a hard time just sitting around when there's so much to be done.  It's just not fun and it's hard to be Jolly, Merry or even slightly happy when I feel like this.  I shot a wedding last month and amongst all the activities that come during the holidays, I've been trying to finish up the editing process.  I tagged this picture as a keeper when I uploaded it, but now that I've edited it... I feel like smiling.  It's "a moment" and you can tell they are just so into each other.  This was the first dance...

More to come later when I'm completely done.  Almost there!

Flash Cards

So, I've been playing WAY too much today.  The kids are totally engrossed in Christmas movies.  They've gone from Frosty the Snowman to now Polar Express.  It's always a hit that first time they watch it each year.  So, rather than edit pictures, clean house, sew, or do anything that is way higher on the priority list... I sit here playing.  There are new Luxe cards available in cute circular shapes and with scalloped edges.  I have been dying over them and had to play with them a little.  I will be making and ordering my Christmas cards this week and I'm having a hard time deciding on which to go with... a folded card  (like last year which gives me more picture opportunities) or a flat card (only front and back) like these.  I just love the fun shapes... don't you?

In case you're wondering I will be expanding my photography business to include "Flash Cards" for those of you interested in my designs.  I will keep you posted.  It may not get off the ground this year, but next year you'll have lots of cards to choose from, just you wait!!!   In the meantime, look for my Christmas card.  I will be sending out lots of Christmas Cheer (hint hint).

Wright family

I am sorry, I've gotten behind with my posts.  I have quite a few to catch up on.  I've been sewing my heart out and rather than sitting in front of a computer, I've been sitting in front of my sewing machine.  I have bunk beds coming for my girls next week and so I've been working on making their bedding and dressing up their room a bit.  My poor little three year old is still sleeping in her bothers room cause that's where the broken crib fits (YES, I said broken).  So, I'm trying to make it up to her by making her duvet cover with lots of yellow in it (her favorite color).  So for now, here's something...

Talk about a darling little family.  I adore the mom and happen to think there could not have been a better Kindergarten teacher for my daughter!  She handled her and all her quarks and passion quite well.  I am grateful for sure!
Here are just a few...

School Auction {Family Photo Session}

This family was the lucky winner of the Family Photo session auctioned off at my daughters school carnival.  The money raised at the auction all goes towards the school.  The carnival raised over 9K this year, more than any other year.  Something to be proud of I think!  Thank you J for your contribution.  I am thankful as I'm sure our school is as well.  Now onto your pictures...

After a few pictures, brother found a lady bug.  Could she be any cuter?  I love it!

My guy is five!

Okay, so it's been over a month since his birthday and I haven't gotten around to doing his pictures just yet.  Knowing I have three shoots this coming week, AND my daughters birthday, I thought I'd try and squeeze it in today.  With the weather overcast, I thought I had my chance.  It would allow me to get them done earlier in the day.  So, after a great work out at the gym I came home with great ideas and ready to go.  I got him dressed and headed out.  I found myself bribing him all the way there!

UGGGgghhhhh... moments before pulling in, BAM I got hit with a migraine and the lights began to flash and I couldn't see out of one eye.  NOOOOooooo... I wanted to cry.  The longer I waited the worse my sight would get until the symptoms passed completely and who knows how long that would be.  So, I told him "Mommy's getting a migraine and can't see very well so we have to take a couple REALLY fast, okay?"  He began to cry.  He said, "look at me Mommy, can you see me?"  I did my best to hurry the concern away and let him know I'd be fine.  I'm sure my anxiousness was obvious, and all that bribery went out the window.  He was upset and I didn't have the time to waste.  SERIOUSLY?  WHY?  So, here's one of about ten clicks.  I had to post one!  He's my sweet little buddy and I can hardly believe he's FIVE!!!!  So stay tuned for more to come of my guy.  Could he be any cuter???  I LOVE HIM!

Girls, Girls, Girls

It was a little difficult convincing 4 girls to smile, or even look at me...
but this is my kind of photo, the one that tells the story.  The oldest knows what to do and is trying, the second is being told what to do and is looking at the parents behind me, the third is in la-la land and could care less that I'm even there and the youngest is mad that she can't just run off cause she can walk on her own now!  I LOVE IT!!!  But of course we got it right and here they are...

I just love this family...

And because it was the littlest first birthday we got out a cake and let her go to town...
-1-2

Then suddenly she was done having fun with the cake!!!

And there is nothing sweeter than a dad with his girls!

Birthday Girl

There's never any extra time in a day these days, so when I am sick, it sure gets me behind on EVERYTHING!  I have decided that the end of summer/back to school has done me in.  I think the change of schedule, change of weather and the germs that come home from school is too much.  So here's a look at a darling birthday girl for now and her family will soon follow.
