Family

So, because I like to copy the best (my friend Suzanne) I have decided to take on a project this year.  I'm putting together a scrapbook for my mother in law for Christmas.  It will include pictures of each of her kids and their spouse, and all the grandkids along with a note from them.  That's 36 pictures to take.  The hardest part is that two of the families live out of state.  I'm crossing my fingers I can pull this off.  I know my mother in law will love this in the end.  One of the families came up to go skiing in Park City.  Before they left town, I rushed over to meet them an hour before leaving to fly home to snap a few pictures for the book.

Going back...

In need of cleaning out my Lightroom to make room for more pictures, I have gone back to some old shoots.  This one is of my brother and sister in laws family.  I think after these TWO attempts, my sister in law may never want to do this again.  She spent the first day straightening her hair only to have her youngest not take a nap that day and be incredibly grumpy.  The second attempt was when I had to run over during the hours my two kids were at a birthday party, so I had one with me.  The oldest this time had fallen asleep in the car and was mad to have been woken up.  I have learned over the years, to let perfection go out the window when it comes to family pictures.  There's always going to be SOMETHING (someone didn't get a long enough nap, someone is grumpy, someone is silly, someone is... ).  In fact, I live for these now.  I like seeing the REAL side of my kids in the pictures.  We've all heard the sayings, "It is what it is" or "roll with the punches".  Sometimes it feels like we've gotten punched, but we just have to go with it and even smile at the end of it all.  In 30 years it will be a funny story that you'll tell time and time again!

After it was all said and done, my little Brooke and Sterling began to play.  Finally when the pressure was off, right?  But I love this expression of my little Brooke "he's going to do what, kiss me?"

My sweet girl!

My daughter at 7 years old.  I fought with the bitter cold (it was really cold in November) to get these pictures and I never posted them.  I was just in the process of ordering prints for my home and realized they never made it on the blog.  Must have been those darn holidays that got in the way.  So I thought I'd share now.  I know a lot are the same, but I'm trying to figure out which one is my favorite and will be displayed.  Any thoughts?

My boy...

I don't think I ever shared all of my favorite pictures of my 5 year old!  He's so great and when I'm feeling down cause my girls won't even look at the camera anymore, he immediately says "I'll take a picture for you mom!"  He knows how much I love pictures of my kids and he's the MOST willing of the three!  He's the best!

A boy and his love of rocks!  I have to show you these next few and just imagine boy noises as if this rock is a jet airplane!

And then there's this sweet face!

Wright family

I am sorry, I've gotten behind with my posts.  I have quite a few to catch up on.  I've been sewing my heart out and rather than sitting in front of a computer, I've been sitting in front of my sewing machine.  I have bunk beds coming for my girls next week and so I've been working on making their bedding and dressing up their room a bit.  My poor little three year old is still sleeping in her bothers room cause that's where the broken crib fits (YES, I said broken).  So, I'm trying to make it up to her by making her duvet cover with lots of yellow in it (her favorite color).  So for now, here's something...

Talk about a darling little family.  I adore the mom and happen to think there could not have been a better Kindergarten teacher for my daughter!  She handled her and all her quarks and passion quite well.  I am grateful for sure!
Here are just a few...
